Are there alternatives to the standard three-year Honda Gap Insurance they offer?

Honda Contract Hire Gap Insurance from Total Loss     Honda Return to invoice Gap Insurance from Total Loss     Honda Vehicle Replacement Gap Insurance from Total Loss

At Total Loss, we believe in providing policies that offer what we believe have that are feature-packed and offer the best value for money.

At present, we offer three different types of gap insurance policies.

  • Finance Gap Insurance - Contract hire Gap insurance policy -  Contract hire Gap will top up the shortfall between your insurance company's market value settlement and the outstanding finance on your finance agreement. In summary, as long as you are up to date with your lease payments and there are no late payment charges or arrears, your policy will pay the settlement figure. You can also protect your initial rental up to a maximum of £3000.
  • Return to invoice Gap Insurance - RTI Gap - Invoice Gap - Invoice gap will top up the shortfall between your motor insurer payout and the greater of
    • The amount outstanding on your car loan, personal contract purchase or hire purchase agreement
    • The original invoice price you paid for your Honda. This is the on-the-road cost after any discounts but before you pay a penny in part exchange or cash deposit.
  • Vehicle replacement Gap Insurance - VRI Gao - Replacement Gap - Pays the difference between your car insurance settlement and the higher of
    • The finance balance on your loan agreement ( as per RTI Gap Insurance )
    • The invoice price you paid.
    • The replacement cost of another car, the same as yours, was on the 1st day you drove it home.
      • If that model is no longer available, the settlement would be based on the average of three quotations for the superseding model.
      • If there is no superseding model, the settlement will be based on the invoice price you paid plus an extra 10%.

In all cases, we do not supply a new car replacement; settlement is always made in cash or a BACs transfer. We feel that this is important, as in the unfortunate event that your Honda is written off, we think that it is important that you decide how your money is spent.

All the gap insurance levels we offer rely on your motor insurer writing your Honda offer and agreeing to a market-value settlement.

At TLG, we offer policies that we have tailor-made and packed full of additional features for Honda owners over the last decade.
