At Total Loss you can protect many different vehicles from a 7 year old car to an Aston Martin.

In fact the main criteria is that your vehicle has to be listed in Glass's Guide. This will normally mean that your vehicle is made specifically for the UK market. At present we can not cover vehicles which have been first registered outside the UK and then re-classified as a UK vehicle.

This is because vehicles made, for example the German or French market can often vary in specification. This difference in specification can subsequently have a massive difference on resale value or written off settlements.

This means that should your vehicle ever be written off it would be very difficult for our claims team to make accurate comparisons in the value offered by your own motor insurance company.

This is not to be confused with a vehicle which has been made outside the UK and then purchased from a franchised dealership for example a Volkswagen Golf. Yes the vehicle is German and yes it is made outside the UK, but when you buy a vehicle from a franchised dealership or VAT registered garage the vehicle would have been imported using the correct channels.

This means that should you ever need to make a claim our claims team will very quickly be able to validate and agree settlement with your motor insurance company.

So which type of vehicles can be protected with a total loss insurance policy?

Providing that your vehicle meets the age and mileage restrictions on the day that you buy your policy and providing that it is not going to be used for excluded purposes as long as it is listed in Glass's Guide there should be no issue.
