NEW! Scratch & Dent Insurance available for lease/contract hire vehicles
As more and more people look to take a vehicle via a form of lease or contract hire, we have agreed to offer Scratch & Dent Insurance for vehicles purchased under those circumstances. It is a feature that has been available online for a while, however, we have not publicised the fact. You may have looked around at other online suppliers and found that you have had no luck when trying to purchase a form of cosmetic repair insurance for your leased car.
Look no further.
At Total Loss Gap, you can purchase a Scratch & Dent Insurance policy for your lease vehicle providing you fit the eligibility criteria.
Scratch and Dent Insurance can cover the costs of a SMART repair for bodywork damage such as:
Providing you have collected the vehicle, or taken delivery of the vehicle, within the last 30 days and the usage of the vehicle is not that of a Taxi, Chauffeur, Driving School, Courier or Sales Rep, we should be able to offer a form of protection.
The reason you may need to consider cosmetic repair insurance is that the condition of your leased vehicle, when you hand it back at the end of your lease, can lead to charges being imposed for minor bits of damage. Most vehicle leases will contain terms and conditions that state just how much you can be charged for different types of damage when the vehicle is inspected at hand back.
With minor damage like a scuff costing between £75 and £150 to repair typically then if you have a number of these then you could face a sizeable charge when you hand back your lease car.
By taking out insurance to cover the costs of these repairs provides you with a cost-effective way to deal with damage as it occurs. It also provides you with access to a nationwide repair network that the insurers' claims team will organise to attend your repair.
At Total Loss Gap, you can make as many as 6 claims per year for incidents incurring damage less than 150mm in diameter. Should you need to make a claim, there is a small excess of just £10 to pay per claim. Rather than paying the additional charges at the end of the lease or even the repair costs during the lease, you can have the peace of mind that should you incur any damage, you could have that repaired. But, doesn't your own motor insurance policy cover you for this happening?
In addition to the 'stand-alone' Scratch & Dent Insurance at Total Loss Gap, we also have a further option to give you even more coverage.
Total Loss Gap also provides SMARTCare Insurance that combines three types of cover into one policy, namely:
SmartCare Insurance or Scratch & Dent Insurance at Total Loss Gap and see whether or not, it would be a cost-effective option to cover repair costs on a leased car.
