Alongside our range of FCA-regulated insurance products, Total Loss GAP also offers a selection of vehicle maintenance plans. These plans provide an alternative way to manage minor damage through a structured programme of inspection and rectification.
Our Maintenance Plans are designed to help maintain the appearance and condition of your vehicle’s bodywork, alloy wheels and tyres within defined service limits.
Unlike insurance policies, which operate on an incident-and-claim basis, Maintenance Plans operate on an inspection-and-rectification basis. Through quarterly inspections, any eligible damage that has accrued during the inspection period can be assessed and addressed in line with the plan terms.
Maintenance Plan options we provide:

Maintenance Plans can offer broader eligibility criteria compared with many insurance products. You may take out a Maintenance Plan regardless of how long you have owned your vehicle, whether purchased privately, at auction, or through a dealership.
Vehicles can be up to 10 years old with unlimited mileage (subject to plan terms), and plans are available for annual or multi-year periods. Annual renewable options may be available if you prefer shorter commitment terms.
When you take out a Maintenance Plan, an initial condition assessment is required. You will be asked to upload a series of images through an online app to establish a baseline condition.
Quarterly inspections are then carried out to review the condition of the covered areas. Where eligible issues are identified within the plan terms, rectification or treatment is arranged through appointed service agents.
This inspection-led approach allows multiple areas of minor damage to be assessed and addressed within a structured maintenance programme.
If a tyre suffers deflation, you should contact the Plan Administrator. This will trigger an interim inspection and maintenance assessment. Where the issue falls within the plan terms, a repair or replacement will be arranged through an appointed service agent, subject to the applicable maintenance limits. This may include issues such as a puncture or other sudden loss of air pressure, subject to inspection.
The plans are administered by RAMP (Repair and Maintenance Plans Ltd) and their UK-based customer service team.
A Maintenance Plan is a prepaid service contract and not an insurance policy. It does not provide financial indemnity for loss. Instead, it provides a structured programme of inspection and rectification within defined service limits.
Maintenance Plans are not regulated insurance contracts and do not fall under the protection of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). Complaints relating to Maintenance Plans should be directed to the Motoring Ombudsman.

These operate on an incident-and-claim basis and are subject to separate policy terms and conditions.
By offering both insurance and maintenance options, we aim to provide customers with a choice depending on how they prefer to manage minor vehicle damage.
