GAP Insurance is an extra insurance policy that comes into force if and when your Jeep is written off.
A Jeep Gap insurance from TLG can, depending on the level of protection you choose, cover the 'gap' left behind from your car insurance provider's market value at the time of loss.
Whichever motor insurer you choose is only legally required to pay you the value of your Jeep on the day it was written off. This is often referred to as the market value *
*This may not apply if you have bought a brand new car and your motor insurance company offers new-for-old coverage (if they offer this feature, it is generally for the first year and only for a new car which is registered in your name). In this case, your motor insurance company may simply buy you a new Jeep. In this case, we ask that you double-check any terms and conditions. For example:
Every day you own your Jeep, and every mile you cover will affect this value, as will how you have maintained it. For example, a 3-year-old Jeep Wrangler with an entire main dealership service history and just 20,000 miles on the clock will be worth much more than a five-year-old Jeep Wrangler with a part dealer-maintained service history and 50,000 miles on the clock.
This loss in value is called depreciation, and it is a natural cost of motoring. We know that our wiper blades will need replacing, and we know that eventually, no matter how careful a driver you are, our tyres will wear out.
Motor experts predict that the average car with average usage can lose up to 50% of its original value within the first three years alone. After years, the rate of depreciation slows down, but it continues. This is not limited to Jeep but all vehicles unless specialised or rare. This means that if your Jeep is written off the amount that your car insurance company offer you may be significant less than the purchase price you paid or the outstanding finance. (sometimes referred to as an upside down car - this is because you owe more than your car is worth)
Real-life potential Jeep Gap Insurance from TLG claim
A Jeep Gap insurance from TLG will protect you if you have paid cash for your car, but this is particularly beneficial if you have funded your vehicle using a form of finance agreement. Potentially, if your Jeep is written off, you could be left in a horrendous position of owing more on the vehicle than it's worth.
Return to invoice Gap Insurance prevents you from having to pay for a car you no longer have. Your gap insurance policy will pay the difference between the motor insurance market value settlement of your Jeep (what they think the value at the time of loss was.)

Combined Vehicle Replacement Insurance performs the same as a return to invoice gap insurance policy but with one huge difference: It considers the replacement value at that time of another vehicle which is the same age, mileage, specification, and condition as your vehicle on the first day you drove it home.
We would contact three Jeep dealerships and find out the cost of the exact vehicle, and the average cost of the three would be the cost we would use. If the type of Jeep you bought is no longer available, vehicle replacement would be based on the superseding model. If the model has been discontinued, your payout would be the invoice price you originally paid, plus an extra 10% . added. For example, if you bought a new car, it is based on the replacement cost of another new car. If you bought a 3-year-old used car, it is based on the replacement cost of a 3-year-old used car.
A Gap insurance policy from Total Loss gives you peace of mind and financial security. If your Jeep is declared a total loss, at least the economic aspects will be taken care of. With GAP Insurance from TLG, you can rest assured that you won't be left with a significant financial burden.

Contract Hire Gap Insurance pays the difference between your lease or contract hire agreement's early termination amount and the figure market value settlement your motor insurance company offers (the value at the time of loss) . You can walk away with no further financial obligations if you are up to date with your contract hire-lease hire payments.

**Unless you have bought a brand new Jeep and had a new for old, in which case the time frame is increased to 365 days.
Please see the policy documents below for a complete list of terms and conditions.
When you need to claim with your gap insurance, you can trust that your provider will be there. They will guide you through the process, provide the necessary claim forms and instructions, and assist you in gathering the required documents, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience.
Once you've submitted the required documentation and your claim has been approved, we will aim to settle within ten days.
This will depend on which level of cover you want, how long you want protection and the cost of your Jeep. For a bespoke insurance quote, please click or call 0151 647 7556 or freephone 0800 195 4926.
Please remember that if your Jeep is declared a total loss, your car insurance payment might be much lower than what you originally paid for it. It could even be less than the finance outstanding on the vehicle. Getting Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) Insurance can be a good idea.
