The success of the Ford Fiesta in the UK

It has been confirmed to be the best selling vehicle that the United Kingdom has to offer and is also one of the best selling vehicles on the European market in general. The Fiesta designed by Ford has been one of the American companies' constant selling cars on the road. The Fiesta is an entrant into the city car division and is one of the original models to make a name for itself in Britain.

First produced during the mid-seventies, the Fiesta has since seen six different life cycles in total with the latest being launched in 2008. Its reign of dominance over the city car market continues to this day with it being the best selling car for the first month of 2015 and the best selling car for February also. So why has the Fiesta proven to be the best selling car in Britain and why if you're looking for a new city car should you choose this particular model?.

What is so good about the Ford Fiesta?

Well as far as this question is concerned, we have many answers. Good value for money..check. Good equipment levels..check. Good choices..check. There are so many areas that help the Fiesta to shine. Power-wise, the firm offers a great choice of engines consisting of both diesel and petrol units. One of the most popular picks of the bunch though is the one litre turbocharged unit. The EcoBoost engine technology and a Duratec range also complete the petrol line up. Both 1.5 and a 1.6 TDCi diesel are also on the table.

As far as trim levels are concerned, there is a vast range of options available to you with Studio entry-level models kicking off the range. Style, Eco Netic, Zetec, Zetec S, Red, and Black additions and ST models as well as Titanium are just some of the trims on offer with many more also included across the entire range.

Ford does a really good job as far as equipment is concerned but this does of course depend on which trim level you decide to spend your money on. Daytime running lighting, electric windows, and remote central locking are just some of the unique gadgets up for grabs with entry-level models. Head further down the line to the Zetec line up and you can expect to find more additions such as a trip computer, a heated windscreen, ambient lighting is also included inside of the car. The top range models are the ST-3 which packs some great technology like automatic windscreen wipers, cruise control, a DAB digital radio, and a built-in sat-nav system as well as much more. With reasons like this, it's not hard to see why the Fiesta is bringing the fight in a strong way to rivals such as the Fiat 500 and the Vauxhall Corsa.

What price range does the Fiesta come in with?

Prices of course vary depending on which trim level you opt for with the car. Prices do however get underway from £10,145 for the entry-level Studio models. Head further on to the Zetec at mid-range and you will be paying from £13,095. The ST range starts at £17,385 and the top-level ST3 comes in from £19,395.
