A review of the Mazda 2

Our car review today is focused on the city car segment as we check out the very popular Mazda 2 model from the Japanese brand which is known for being a good smooth runner that does its job very well when it comes to getting from A to B and it also offers some extra equipment that you may very well find suits your needs perfectly. The Mazda 2 helps to add more taste to the Mazda range which already boasts some great models such as the MX-5 and the Mazda 6 saloon model. So what is it that the Mazda 2 brings to the table that grabs our attention and why do we think it would be a good idea to spend money on this particular model?.

The key selling points that the Mazda 2 contains

So checking out some of our favourite highlights of this particular range, we welcome in the additions of a decent selection of engines that boast units such as the 1.3 litre petrol entry level engine. The entire range comes with petrol engines with no diesel units available and all of these engines either carry 1.3 litres of 1.5 depending on which particular trim level you decide to spend your money on. Mazda offer the 2 with some great equipment that boasts the likes of USB connectivity,an anti lock braking system and halogen headlights all as standard with entry level models. Further down the range we find leather fitting such as the steering wheel and gearstick, a trip computer, privacy glass and central locking. The same trim is also available with a four speed automatic transmission system instead of the five speed manual. Bluetooth, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers get added to the mix for highest trim levels and for the very top range Sport Colour edition models you can also expect to get your moneys worth from fog lights, Bluetooth, a multi functional steering wheel and a built in navigation system.

Mazda are very much up to date with the rest of the competition when it comes to their 2 model and when we think of city cars, models such as the Renault Clio, Vauxhall Adam and the likes of the Volkswagen Polo all come into play as good strong rivals that the Mazda 2 sits comfortably in the middle of.

Is the Mazda 2 good value for money?

With so much equipment on the offering across multiple trim levels and a good standard range of petrol engines up for grabs, Mazda have priced this car very decently with a figure of £11,195 getting the range underway with the top range models kicking off from £13,495.
