Why has the Ford Focus been so successful?

Today for a special review, we are checking out the Ford Focus which quickly gained a huge reputation here in the United Kingdom for being one of the finest vehicles to ever go on sale. Ford are already leading the pack with their Fiesta model which has proved to be the best seller in the United Kingdom of all time and also claimed the number one position for car sales in 2014. The Ford Focus was not far behind however as it managed to rank second place for last year. So now when we think of why the Focus has been a successful vehicle, there are a lot of factors that can be taken into consideration. When we look at what has been the key ingredient to success, you could argue that it is the engine range underneath the bonnet, the added equipment to come along with the vehicle or its reliability. There are so many areas you can look at. Today however with our review we are going to check out some of our personal highlights of the car and what it is about the vehicle that should grab your attention.

The engines and specifications of the latest Focus model

The latest Focus to be introduced onto the market came into play from 2011 and we now find ourselves four years down the line with the third generation of the car. How has it maintained its position on the market over this time though?. There are a range of engines on offer for the car which include both petrol and diesel engines with Ecoboost technology also finding a place underneath the bonnet. 1.0,1.5 and 1.6 Ecoboost engines are up for grabs. A two litre diesel is also on the cards and can be chosen with either a manual or automatic transmission setup . So engine wise, the Focus is certainly on a winner with strong good options.

As far as the equipment to come along with the car is concerned, this all depends on which particular model you decide to spend your money on. There are multiple trim levels on offer for the latest Focus with entry level models packing the likes of a keyless entry system,a tyre pressure monitoring system and a CD player also. If we go further down the line, we see the likes of automatic air conditioning come into play,a multi functioning steering wheel, a ten speaker sound system, fog lights and parking sensors too. The Focus is also a very safe car when it comes to standard equipment as we see multiple airbags, ABS as standard, traction control, stability control and braking assistance also brought into the fold. When we look at the amount of features to come along with this particular model and we see what you can receive for the extra couple of pounds, the Focus is a vehicle that provides a big challenge especially for the likes of the Golf from Volkswagen.

How much does the Focus cost?

In our opinion, prices for the Focus range are very reasonable as you can expect to spend a starting price of £13,995 for entry level models. The further down the line you go you can expect to spend more with £25,995 being the top of the range price.
