Imagine leasing a fully electric family SUV, brand new at £36,500, for as little as £145 a month. That's Leapmotor C10. A frankly brilliant monthly cost, provided you stay within mileage limits and pay your initial rental.
If you're browsing for an electric SUV and spot monthly leases from just £145 (ex VAT) on a business lease and around £175 (inc VAT) for personal lease, it might feel too good to be true. However, that's exactly what's happening with the Leapmotor C10, which is launching in the UK market, in a joint venture with Stellantis.
With MRRP starting around £36,500, it's now making headlines with, frankly, eye-watering lease deals, though there are caveats readers should know.
Built on the company's LEAP 3.0 platform, the C10 is a mid-size electric SUV: rear-wheel drive with a 160kW (approx. 215bhp) motor and around 263 miles WLTP range from a 69.9 kWh LFP battery. It hits 0 to 62 mph in about 7½ seconds, tops out near 106 mph, and fast-charges from 30–80% in around half an hour.
Only one specification level is available in the UK, and it is quite impressive.
It includes a 14.6 inch centre infotainment screen, 10.25 inch digital driver display, heated and ventilated seats, a panoramic glass roof, big boot capacity (435L expanding to 1,410L), a 12 speaker, 840W sound system, and a host of safety tech including adaptive cruise.
At its price, the spec undercuts rivals such as the VW ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq, though reviewers often remark that system polish, software refinement, and driving experience lag slightly behind.
It's competent, comfortable, and pragmatic, but not sensational (see reviews below).
Lease pricing from providers like Nationwide Vehicle Contracts shows the C10 available for £145 per month (ex. VAT)*, the kind of deal you'd expect on a basic runabout, not a mid-size, family EV SUV.
Many leases are quoted with multiple months' initial rental and low annual mileage caps. Even so, on a like-for-like basis, the Leapmotor C10 represents fantastic value right now.
The headline rental figures are jaw-dropping, particularly considering the mid-thirty thousand pound showroom price. It's ideal for those who commute sparingly or have light business mileage needs.

Reviews strike a note of caution.
WhatCar rates the Leapmotor C10 at 3 out of 5.
Top Gear sees the model as 5 out of 10.
Carwow provide a 6 out of 10 score. However, they also state around a £5,500 discount if you wanted to buy one*
Overall consensus: it undercuts rivals on price and kit, but perhaps still trails in refinement.
Leapmotor has matched UK government EV grants, without qualifying for them, lowering the C10 price by £3,750 to £32,750.
This was done to compete head on with European brands and build early volume. Most other Chinese EV makers aren't offering consumer deals like this at launch.
Stellantis' 20% stake in Leapmotor gives the brand access to an established dealer and service network, adding trust and credibility to a newcomer, especially for business users.
